ABOUT US
Cobertizo is a non-profit civil association based in Jilotepec, State of Mexico, focused on fostering a space for production, encounter, and critical thinking around contemporary art and other creative disciplines.
Through its program, the project encourages exchange among artists and creators from different backgrounds, aiming to add on to the development of rigorous and critical art practices understanding collectivity and diversity as key elements.

THE PLACE
Cobertizo is located in the municipality of Jilotepec, in the northern region of the State of Mexico, within a territory historically linked to the former province of Xilotepec-Chiapan. The region is characterized by its wide biodiversity and a landscape shaped by large hills and open expanses.
The proximity to the natural environment and the scale of the place holds a direct relation between artistic practices and their context, enabling working conditions that invite observation, focus, and dialogue with both environmental and social dimensions.
