The Summer and Fall Residencies are three-week programs open to artists of all nationalities and disciplines, welcoming both individual projects and collaborative proposals of up to two people. Each residency hosts eight artists and takes place within Cobertizo’s working environment in Jilotepec, State of Mexico.
These residencies are designed for artists interested in working within a different cultural and artistic context, establishing meaningful connections with Mexico’s contemporary art scene while developing their practice in a focused, shared setting. Participants take part in a structured program that includes visits and mentorship by invited artists and curators, portfolio presentations, and collective critique sessions.
The Summer and Fall Residencies offer the opportunity to engage deeply with a Latin American context, build long-term professional relationships, and develop projects in dialogue with new social, cultural, and artistic references. The participation fee is USD $2,050, which supports the residency program and ensures access to its working conditions and activities throughout the three-week stay.

Invited Artists is an invitation-only residency lasting three weeks, open to artists from Latin America and conceived as a period of focused work within Cobertizo. Participants commit to engaging with the program, which includes visits and mentorship by invited mentors, as well as moments of exchange among residents such as portfolio presentations and critique circles. This residency is fully funded, with the aim of providing accessible conditions that support the growth and development of artistic practices in the region.
As part of the residency, participating artists are required to contribute a work to Cobertizo’s collection. This contribution is part of a model of reciprocity that allows the program to continue and enables future residents to access the same opportunity.

The LATAM + CARIBBEAN Fellowship is a fully-funded three-week residency open to eight artists from Latin America, selected through an open call. This program reflects Cobertizo’s commitment to fostering networks of exchange and collaboration among artists, understood as a way of building pathways toward a more sustainable artistic ecosystem in Latin America—grounded in collectivity and long-term relationships.
The residency seeks to bring together diverse practices, contexts, and trajectories, encouraging connections that extend beyond the time spent at Cobertizo and continue over time as forms of ongoing collaboration and circulation.
Artists are selected by a specialized selection committee, based on the strength of their projects and the relevance of their development within the residency context. As part of the program, selected artists are required to contribute a work to Cobertizo’s collection as part of a reciprocity-based model that supports the continuity of the program and broadens its reach.
